MRI

Magnetic Resonance Imaging is an advanced medical scanning technique allowing for an accurate diagnosis of a range of issues from chronic diseases to tumors to abnormalities in the musculoskeletal system. They are a non-invasive and painless way for our orthopedists to view soft tissue such as tendons, ligaments, muscles, cartilage, and the joint capsule which are not seen on an X-ray. Also, the image series may be analyzed from different angles which may lead to faster diagnosis and treatment. Our MRI services are available to our patients as well as patients referred by other area physicians.

NCS (Nerve Conduction Study)/EMG (Electromyography)

These tests are performed to measure nerve and muscle function. NCS depicts whether the body’s electrical signals are appropriately traveling to a nerve. This test studies symptoms such as numbness, tingling, weakness, or cramping in the neck, arms, legs, and/or back. EMG measures electrical activity in the muscles without electrical currents. This is done with a thin, fine needle placed into the muscle.
