shoulder pain

Among common sports injuries are shoulder dislocation, ACL tear, tennis (or golf) elbow, shin splints, concussion, knee injuries, fractures, and ankle sprains. Prevention measures will help lower your risk injury. Some common prevention measures are proper stretching and warm up, support brace or padding, muscle strengthening, pacing your activity or taking breaks to lower the repetition cycle (as in tennis), proper diet, and maintaining a healthy body weight.

Our Sports Medicine physicians have provided their skills to many professional organizations such as the Miami Hurricanes, Miami Dolphins, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Salt Lake City Olympics, major city marathons, IMG/Bollettieri Tennis Academy, and the NCAA Men’s Ice Hockey Championships among many others. Locally our Sports Medicine physicians serve as team physicians to several high schools in Manatee and Sarasota Counties.
