This year, 360 Orthopedics proudly joined ABC7’s Day of Giving, delivering our most successful Back-to-School Drive in company history and making a direct impact on the Sarasota and Manatee County communities we serve.
From July 7 to August 7, our staff, providers, and patients came together to collect over 200 school supplies for local teachers and students — the largest total ever collected by 360 Orthopedics. From notebooks and backpacks to art supplies and binders, these donations will help set students up for a strong start to the school year in Sarasota, Bradenton, Venice, and surrounding areas.
This year’s drive was especially meaningful because it supports the very community that shaped so many of our team members. Many of our staff grew up attending local schools — and so did several of our physicians, including Dr. Justin Raye, Dr. Douglas Constant, and Dr. William A. Mahoney. Even some of our advanced practice providers, such as Sage Keckstein, PA-C, and Kristina Gomes, PA-C, have roots here.
Our connection to these schools goes beyond personal history — we care for students, teachers, and families every day. Whether it’s a student-athlete visiting our sports medicine physicians or a teacher receiving physical therapy to get back to the classroom, the people in these schools are part of the heart of our patient community.
On the Day of Giving, 360 Orthopedics team member Kate Simpson helped transport multiple bins of school supplies to Carl Reynolds Law in Lakewood Ranch, where ABC7 was broadcasting live. Much of the 360 Orthopedics team — including several physicians and advanced practice providers — grew up in the local school system, making this effort especially meaningful.
“This incredible turnout reflects the heart of our 360 community,” Simpson said. “Many of our team members are products of these schools, and now we have the privilege of giving back to the teachers who shape our future and the students who will become our next generation of leaders. Seeing so many people rally behind this cause was truly inspiring.”
When the 360 Orthopedics team arrived, the ABC7 crew and volunteers were pleasantly surprised by the sheer volume of donations — it took several people to unload the car.
The success of this year’s drive sets a new standard for what we can achieve together. We’re grateful to every team member, patient, and provider who contributed. Your generosity is making a tangible difference in local classrooms — and we can’t wait to build on this momentum next year.
It’s an annual community event where individuals and organizations donate school supplies to help local students and teachers prepare for the school year.
Supplies are distributed to schools across Sarasota County and Manatee County, including Sarasota, Bradenton, Venice, and surrounding neighborhoods.
